Schools

We believe that the young people of today are the wildlife guardians of tomorrow.

With this in mind, we have developed the teaching resource Wild Schools©

With a diverse range of tips and activities Wild Schools is designed to aid teachers in their education of students about various aspects of wildlife, including species information, habitats, human-wildlife conflict, quizzes, audio visuals and engaging projects to name a few.

Key features of Wild Schools include:

  1. Interactive Learning: Engage in immersive learning experiences through interactive modules that stimulate curiosity and encourage active participation.
  2. Personalised Learning Paths: Tailor your learning journey to your unique needs and interests. Set your own pace and project level.
  3. Peer Collaboration and Community Engagement: Connect with fellow students, educators, and experts from around the area to exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, and build a vibrant learning community.
  4. Accessible Anytime, Anywhere: Access Wild Schools anytime, anywhere, across multiple devices, ensuring uninterrupted learning experiences that fit seamlessly into your busy lifestyle.
  5. Available as Gaeilge: This resource is also available in Irish; Scoileanna Fiaine.

If you want to incorporate wildlife into your curriculum, then this is the resource for you, and our Education team are on hand to answer any of your questions. To access the Wild Schools resource go to www.scoilnet.ie and search Wildlife.

We do sometimes facilitate in-school presentations which last 45 – 60 minutes with time for questions afterwards. Teaching students about wildlife and nature is an exciting opportunity to ignite their curiosity and create a lifelong connection with the natural world.

Where it is not possible for us to visit your school, we will refer you to the Wild Schools resource.

Wildlife education is essential for fostering a sense of stewardship, promoting conservation actions, and ensuring a sustainable future where humans and wildlife can thrive together. We understand that everyone’s connection to nature is unique, and so we encourage you to find the activities and approaches that resonate most with you. The key is to engage with nature in a way that helps you feel grounded, rejuvenated, and more attuned to the world around you.
