Directors

Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors.


Whilst all volunteers, it is made up of experienced and driven people and presents a balanced combination of people in the fields of wildlife conservation and welfare, management, finance, communications, legal, research, education and IT.

The Board is responsible for the overall control and strategic direction of the charity


Dr Michael Gunn | Veterinary Surgeon and retired Director of Laboratories at the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine, Scientific Advisor to the EU Commission, and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on animal health and welfare. Chair of Animal Health Ireland’s Technical Working Group on Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR).


Aidan Lynch | Senior Corporate Counsel. A senior member of the EMEA and APAC management teams. Provides support for material commercial contracts, technology, HR, procurement, privacy and regulatory initiatives.


David Duffy | Assistant Professor of Wildlife Disease Genomics, Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience and Sea Turtle Hospital, University of Florida, USA. PhD, Zoology, B.Sc. in Natural Sciences.


Aoife Corcoran | B.Sc., Ph.D. BSc Genetics, University College Cork. Technical Writer: European Project Proposal Development. NCFE Digital Marketing. PhD in Cancer Biology.


Emma Higgs | Veterinary Nurse. Founder of Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland. For nearly 20 years has worked in, and become Manager of various wildlife rehabilitation establishments worldwide.


Sean Conlon | CEO and founder of Conlon & Co a modern merchant bank with a focus on capital raising and arbitrage opportunities within real estate finance and investment markets.


Karen Mahon | Environmental Scientist. Director of OCAE consultants who provide agri-environmental consultancy, land management planning, Environmental Impact Studies, Governance, Compliance and Policy advice.


Mark Muir | Chartered accountant. Financial Controller at Egon Zehnder. Experience preparing risk reports for traders, pension fund analysis, and due diligence of companies.


Cormac O’Connor | Senior Corporate Counsel. Senior member of the EMEA and APAC management teams. Provides support for material commercial contracts, technology, HR, procurement, privacy and regulatory initiatives.
